Motivation, Posture, Exercise Study The Amount of Time Humans Spend Exercising Will Shock You
In case you were in need of some mid-week motivation to turn off Netflix and make it to your workout, here goes: The average human will spend less than one percentof their entire life exercising, yet 41 percent engaging with technology. Yikes.

The Amount of Time Humans Spend Exercising Will Shock You

The stats comes from a global study that Reebok just revealed as part of their25,915 Days campaign. That number correlates to the number of days in the average human lifespan (71 years)—and aims to inspire people to 'honor their days' by spending more time on physical fitness.

The study looked at survey data from more than 90,000 respondents from nine countries around the world (the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, Mexico, Russia, Korea, and Spain) to determine that the average human spends just 180 of their 25,915 days exercising. To put this in perspective, they found that 10,625 days of the average human life are spent engaging with a screen, be it a phone, tablet, laptop, or other electronic device.
Sure, calculating how many days you have left might seem a little depressing, but it's certainly a welcome reminder to seize the day and get your butt moving. And the good news is that even if you don't have a ton of time to devote to working out, a couple minutes here and there can add up to make a huge impact—studies have repeatedly shown that quick workouts can make you happier, healthier, and fitter. Seriously, even one minute of intense exercise can make a difference.
